How do you turn a cinema foyer into an extension of the movie experience? By designing every customer touchpoint, from packaging and point-of-sale materials to environmental graphics and motion design, as part of one cohesive brand identity. This project was done in close collaboration with Art Director Jennie Bengtsson and Project Manager Alexander Tanski during my time as Graphic Designer at South Communication.
Founded in 1906, Nordisk Film Biografer is one of the world's oldest film companies and today operates Denmark's leading cinema chain. The project focused on the concession market, the food and beverage area that forms an essential part of the cinema experience. My work ranged from packaging and point-of-sale materials to environmental graphics and motion design. I designed graphics for coffee cups, coffee packaging, slush and water dispensers, price labels, signage for the sweets and beverage stations, floor stickers, posters, and animated content for the TV screens.
The concept centred on creating a modern, vibrant environment inspired by blockbuster films and popular culture, designed for a broad audience of moviegoers, from families and couples to dedicated film enthusiasts. Every visual touchpoint reinforced the excitement of the cinema experience, made the foyer easy to navigate, and built anticipation for the movie itself.
Designing across so many different media challenged me to think beyond individual deliverables and focus on the overall experience. Seeing every element come together in one physical space was much rewarding and reinforced my belief that the smallest design details can have a real impact on how people experience a place.
